Al Cabrón is the pseudonym of San Francisco based artist Alan Peters. A solo project spun out of Bear Flag Rebellion, the alt-country band formed by members of SF based punk-trio Bad Girls Go to Hell, Al Cabrón keeps the outlaw spirit alive and kicking. More understated instrumentally, the project puts more emphasis on the storytelling that was less obvious in Bear Flag’s punk-country crossover fire.
Born and raised in the coastal-range forest-land of California, in its most lunatic-fringe era, Cabrón tells semi-autobiographical or at times historical tales with running themes of addiction, criminality and grief – with the varied rural settings of vast California each playing characters of their own.
With producer Jason Brownell on micro-independent label Revenant Ventures, Al Cabrón is writing, re-writing, and releasing a first album one track at a time.
